HOW DO I JOIN?
 

Every year, the NYO welcomes talented young players and composers to apply for a life-changing experience with like-minded musicians from across Great Britain.

We regret that it’s now too late to apply for the 2009 Orchestra but if you would like to be part of the NYO in 2010, we will be inviting new applications from Spring 2009. Add our site to ‘Your Favourites’ and check back here early next year for more information.

To be eligible for the 2010 Orchestra, you must be under 18 on 1 September 2009. If you are an instrumentalist, you must play to a standard equivalent to Grade 8 distinction (ABRSM/Trinity Guildhall) although you do not need to have taken any exams.

We also welcome applications from composers to join the NYO Composers’ Course which runs alongside the main orchestral course and gives you the opportunity to write new music in dialogue with our players and hear your ideas brought instantly to life.
